12.06.08 | CD RELEASE
Thanks to Everyone who came out to the CD release at the yardbird suite last weekend. Craig and I had a great time playing for everyone, Dana, Tom and Rubin were STELLAR, and I can honestly say that was the most fun I have had in a long time. Rumour has it we may be playing at the suite again sometime in the new year-I'll keep you posted.

11.22.08 | The Brenan brothers in NYC
Craig and I just got back from a week in NY/NJ where we had the good fortune of recording a big band record for our good friend Earl MacDonald. The Music was fantastic, and everyone involved played great-I got to meet a lot of new friends, including Pete McCann, Tim Ries, Doug Purviance, and of course catch up with old friends like, Pete Rodriquez, Michael Phillip Mossman, and Ralph Bowen. We recorded in the famed Bennett Studios in Englewood, NJ (home of Tony Bennett). Mike Holober was the conductor, he did a fantastic job-he's also an excellent Big band composer/arranger and piano player as well. It was inspiring to hang with so many great musicians, I can't wait to get the tracks!

10.11.08 | The Brenan brothers
Coming soon, new music, photos and information about my latest project: The Brenan Brothers! Featuring Craig Brenan, Jim Brenan, Ralph Bowen, Terrell Stafford, Geoff Keezer, Dana Hall and Rubim de Toledo

06.30.08 | Italy!
I'm packed, the dog is with my brother, I've decided which horn to take and I'm ready to fly to Italy! the next five weeks should be a lot of fun while I teach at a Jazz camp on the Tuscan Coast. I am really excited to work with some new people, work on a few new things (catch up with my banacos lessons), maybe drink some wine:) and generally enjoy the country. To top off the trip I will be playing in Poland at the Krakow Jazz Festival-another place I have never visited-I can't think of a better way to end an incredibly busy school year. I should also note that my recent gig with Rubim de Toledo and the Decidedly Jazz Danceworks company has been one of the most inspiring, musically rewarding gigs I have ever done. It was my first time performing for dancers, they were all amazing, generous artists, I hope to work with them again...soon! have a great summer

05.22.08 | Four Nights with Wayne Bergeron
Tonight I start a four gig stand with renowned trumpet Master Wayne Bergeron. I actually had the good fortune to record a big band album with Wayne back in 2000, it was during my tenure with Maynard Ferguson. We recorded in the Capitol Studios in downtown Los Angeles. It was a great session in a historically significant room, I remember seeing all the gold and platinum records on the wall from some of popular musics greatest stars like Frank Sinatra. I have been shedding a soprano chart for the last few days-its fast-and Hard, and its on soprano, an instrument I just don't get enough time on. I must fix that. Playing the smaller horn seems to bring out different lines, so far I like it. If you can get out to the Beat Niq this Friday or Saturday (May 23-24) it would be great to see you there!!

04.15.08 | Brenan Brothers recording session
We had a fantastic time in the studio!!!all eight tracks were recorded in one session at Homestead studio with Barry Allen. Dana Hall, Geoffrey Keezer, Rubim de Toledo and Ralph Bowen were spectacular, The musical abilities these four brought to the session was astounding-I can't wait to get some tracks up.

04.06.08 | The brenan brothers go at it
The recording date is approaching, music has been written and re-written, thrown out, revived....-it's almost time to step into the studio with my brother Craig Brenan (trombone), Ralph Bowen (alto sax-producer) Rubim de Toledo (bass) Dana Hall from Chicago (drums) and Geoffrey Keezer from San Diego (piano). I will definitely keep you posted as the project progresses. <0>

01.03.08 | Happy New Year
Happy New Year - 2008 looks to be a busy year, I am currently organizing a new recording for April. I'm hoping to have some very special guests on this new Disc, more on that as it develops. I'm also preparing for a new Disc with Rubim de Toledo, this disc will feature new music from the decidedly Jazz Dance show that we will be performing throughout June. I'll definitely keep everyone posted on where and when the shows happen.
